Personalization is currently one of the key trends in the sticker production industry — customers increasingly expect unique designs tailored to their needs, which directly translates into greater interest in the offer and the ability to sell at higher margins. However, to meet these expectations without extending order fulfillment times or increasing the workload, it is essential to use the right tools. High-quality personalization software and a system that provides the print shop with ready-to-print files compatible with the printer are crucial. One solution that effectively streamlines this process is the integration of the Sticker Builder platform with the Roland VersaSTUDIO BN2-20A printer — a device valued for its precision and reliability in sticker production, and fully compatible with the Sticker Builder tool by Antigro Designer.
Technical Specifications of the Roland VersaStudio BN2-20A Printer

The Roland VersaSTUDIO BN2-20A printer is a compact “print and cut” device that delivers professional-quality printing and cutting in one machine. Equipped with piezoelectric inkjet technology, it supports media widths from 150 to 515 mm and media thicknesses up to 1.0 mm with liner during printing and up to 0.4 mm with liner during cutting. The maximum print and cut width is 480 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of projects, from stickers to custom-printed apparel. The device uses Roland ECO-SOL MAX2 inks in a CMYK configuration, ensuring vivid colors and long-lasting prints. With a maximum print resolution of 1440 dpi, the BN2-20A guarantees outstanding quality and precision, even with complex graphics. Its compact dimensions (1069 x 617 x 622 mm) and 62 kg weight make it ideal for small workspaces such as offices or home studios.
The Roland BN2-20A also stands out with its advanced features that enhance workflow efficiency. The device offers integrated print-and-cut functionality, enabling automatic contour cutting without the need for manual intervention. Additionally, the BN2-20A is equipped with a sheet-cutting feature and automatic sensors that adjust settings based on the type of media, simplifying operation and minimizing errors. The package includes VersaWorks software, providing full control over the design and printing process. Thanks to these features, the BN2-20A is an ideal choice for businesses looking for a reliable and versatile solution for producing high-quality graphic materials.
Roland BN2-20A and the Sticker Builder Workflow in Action
Sticker Builder is fully compatible with the BN2-20A printer, and the print files generated by the tool are perfectly prepared to work seamlessly with every edition of VersaWorks software. The efficiency and reliability of the tool have been proven during numerous events, where the Antigro Designer and Roland teams processed live projects created in Sticker Builder by trade show participants — and printed them on-site, in real time.
During the ISA Sign Expo event, the demand for custom stickers was so high that the sticker printing workflow had to be split across two BN2-20 printers, as well as larger Roland devices — the LG-640 and VG3 — to keep up. This seamless scaling of production was made possible thanks to Sticker Builder’s powerful integration capabilities, which allow files to be automatically routed and prepared for multiple Roland printers without manual adjustments. Over the course of the three-day event, an impressive 1,000 unique sticker designs — each featuring a cut-out face — were created and printed live. This showcases the scale at which personalized sticker production is achievable using Roland printers in combination with the Sticker Builder tool.

From Design to Print: Streamlined Workflow and File Specifications
Designing a personalized sticker in the Sticker Builder tool is extremely simple and intuitive, and can be done on both desktop and mobile devices. After selecting a product in the store, the customer is redirected to the Sticker Builder interface, where they can create their sticker using editable templates or by uploading a photo to generate a custom-shaped design.
Users can enhance their design with editing options, photo filters, additional text, and clipart. Once the order is confirmed and paid, the tool automatically generates print-ready files tailored for the Roland BN2-20A printer, complete with spot color cut lines.
This enables a fully automated workflow, allowing for precise printing and cutting without any need for manual file adjustments. If needed, the generated files can also include additional information such as customer data to help print shop staff efficiently sort and prepare printed sheets for shipping.
