Die-cut, Kiss-cut

Personalization has become a driving force in the sticker production market, with customers increasingly seeking designs that reflect their individual preferences. This shift not only boosts demand but also enables producers to achieve higher profit margins. To deliver on these expectations efficiently, without slowing down turnaround times or adding extra manual work, print shops need advanced solutions.

The key lies in using personalization software that generates print-ready files aligned with the printer’s requirements. A strong example of this is the integration of the Sticker Builder with the Roland VG3-540 printer, a trusted machine recognized for its accuracy and reliability, and fully supported by Antigro Designer’s tools.

Technical Specifications of the Roland VG3-540 Printer

Die-cut

The Roland TrueVIS VG3-540 is a large-format solvent printer with an integrated print-and-cut function, designed for professional use in the signage and advertising industries. It is equipped with FlexFire print heads and TR2 inks, supporting up to eight colors including light shades, white, orange, and green. The printer can handle media widths ranging from 295 mm to 1,371 mm, with a maximum thickness of 1.0 mm (with liner), while offering a maximum print width of 1,346 mm. It delivers a resolution of up to 1,200 dpi and precise contour cutting with speeds from 10 to 300 mm/s and blade pressure of up to 500 gf.

The VG3-540 stands out for its ergonomic design and automation features. A 7-inch LCD touchscreen ensures intuitive operation, while automatic media calibration and an integrated take-up unit enable efficient production, even with large print runs.

Roland VG3-540 and the Sticker Builder Workflow in Action

At the ISA Sign Expo 2025, Antigro Designer’s Sticker Builder, together with the Roland TrueVIS VG3-540 printer, demonstrated how personalization at scale can be delivered without technical limitations. At first, custom stickers were printed on the smaller BN2-20a printers, but when visitor interest in the initiative surged far beyond expectations, the VG3-540 was seamlessly added into the workflow. The smooth transition, without downtime or additional setup, showcased how quickly Antigro Designer’s system adapts to real production challenges.

Throughout the three-day event, the VG3-540 worked alongside Roland’s BN2-20a and LG-640 models, automatically receiving print-ready files generated by the Sticker Builder. In total, more than 1,000 one-of-a-kind face stickers were designed, printed, and cut live. The demonstration highlighted both the reliability of Roland printers and the flexibility of Sticker Builder, proving their combined strength in delivering high-volume, fully personalized output in dynamic, time-sensitive environments.

From Concept to Output: Streamlined Workflow and File Specifications

Creating a personalized sticker with the Sticker Builder is quick and user-friendly, whether on desktop or mobile. Once a product is chosen in the store, the customer is taken directly to the Sticker Builder interface, where they can design their sticker by customizing ready-made templates or uploading their own photo to generate a unique shape.

When generating custom-shape stickers, the customer doesn’t even need to open the editor. Sticker Builder automatically creates a design from the uploaded photo, for example, by cutting out a face and adding an outline – and if this version meets the customer’s expectations, they can skip additional edits such as adding text or applying filters. After viewing the instant preview of the automatically generated file, they can simply proceed to checkout and finalize the order.

After the order is confirmed and payment is completed, the system automatically produces print-ready files optimized for the Roland TrueVIS VG3-540, including spot color cut lines. This ensures a fully automated workflow, enabling accurate printing and cutting without manual file preparation. If required, the files can also carry supplementary details, such as customer information, to help print shop teams efficiently organize and prepare sheets for shipment.
