The Challenge
Before we implemented Sticker Builder, the order process was full of small bottlenecks that disrupted our flow every day. A customer wanted stickers, but to move forward we had to go through several steps manually. The most common scenario looked like this: the customer sent a file, and we had to create a manual proof and email it to the customer for approval. Often, customers didn’t approve the file right away and asked for changes, which meant our designers had to edit the file again and send it back for approval once more. Only after the final file was approved could we move forward. Many orders ended up looking like this, where instead of a smooth checkout, it turned into a back and forth conversation with the customer in multiple rounds.
The two most frustrating issues were:
- Unpredictable workload. It was hard to estimate whether an order would take 10 minutes or 1 hour, because everything depended on how responsive the customer was and how many revision rounds were needed.
